NW corner of Suzzallo Library showing terra cotta sculptures of three of the 18 "Great Thinkers" found on the front and sides of the library.  Henry Suzzallo, President of the University when the library was built in 1923, requested nominations by the faculty of the "great thinkers of the world."  246 were nominated and 18 were then chosen by a committee.  Allan Clark, a Tacoma sculptor was hired to sculpt them
